Dr Paul Clark has just completed a three-year appointment as Senior Visiting Research Fellow in the Institute of Educational Technology at the UK Open University. He previously held the position of Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) at the Open University from October 2002 to September 2007. His responsibilities involved the management of the production and delivery of OU learning materials and services, the Library provision, and the institutes of the OU that undertake research and development of learning technologies and their associated pedagogies. As PVC (L&T) he was the senior responsible officer for the procurement and operation of the OU’s virtual learning environment. He therefore oversaw the process that led to the adoption, and development of Moodle in the UKOU. He was also the senior responsible officer for all quality assurance and enhancement processes in the university.
Dr Clark also holds the position of Visiting Professor in Educational Development at the University of Abertay – Dundee.
